The Report Developer will work as part of the IT Corporate Services team focusing on building and deploying reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). The incumbent must have strong reporting background, the ability to gather requirements from business users, and the ability to leverage all aspects of BI technologies and architecture such as delivery mechanisms, data model, data integration/ETL and reporting tools.
Essential Duties/Functions:
* Manage and be responsible for the performance, reliability, availability, and scalability of reports as assigned
* Effectively communicate progress updates, roadblocks, and offer suggestions & solutions to direct manager and/or project lead
* Code and design reports based upon detail specifications of business and/or user requirements
* Create complex reports (ex. Drill down reports) using multi-dimensional objects.
* Develop complex SQL queries (ex: using various joins and sub-queries) and stored procedures
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent field of studies
* 5+ years of experience in developing SSRS reports in SQL Server 2008/2012
* Expertise in relational and dimensional data modeling techniques in a financial services environment
* Demonstrated ability to write complex SQL for purposes of analyzing data and translation into back end database structures
* Mastery of SSIS, SSRS and SQL Server technologies
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
* Solid experience migrating reports using SQL Server SSRS
* Solid stored procs and T-SQL programming
* Experience with T-SQL query performance optimization
* Must be detailed-oriented, quality-driven, highly organized, and able to work in a past-paced environment.
* Proven knowledge of data extraction
Desired Qualifications:
* Familiarity with Microsoft Master Data and Data Quality Services
* Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services including cube design, development, implementation, and support
* Experience with object oriented programming such as Java or C#
* Background or experience in asset management/financial services industry with an emphasis in fixed income.
